My Mallory

MY MALLORY

I have a ton of pictures from the holidays to post but they aren't quite organized yet so I am going to do a little spotlight on my kids. I want to remember some of the funny things they are doing and liking right now.

Mallory just turned four in December. I can't believe how old she is. Time flies way to fast. Her favorite color is purple. She looks in the mirror every night to check the status of her growing hair. She just can't wait for it to "touch her clothes", I am not sure that it is going to happen any time soon though cause she inherited very poopy hair! It grows about an inch a year! She will push her little shoulders up to her ears and say "look mom its touching!". What a silly girl.

She insists on dressing herself lately. Sometimes she comes up with some pretty cute outfits, but not usually. She has a really hard time wearing pants lately cause she has no bum to hold them up and she refuses to wear her belt. So most of the time she wears "stretchy pants". (Can you blame her? That is all I wear around the house.)

Mallory loves being a big sister. She asks me daily if she is old enough to babysit Benjamin. She helps him a lot. But when he isn't playing like she wants to play she gets pretty upset.

She can write her name pretty well and she knows half of the alphabet. We had to pull her out of preschool this month cause it was costing us way too much $$$$$. Here in AZ its not cheap! So now she says "Mommy is my teacher". So I am trying to keep her little brain stimulated and learning as much as I can. She no longer lets me read books to her very well cause she says " Mom, I can read it to myself!" But she always ends up coming back to me to ask me to read it to her. Then she takes it to Benjamin who says "book" and she sits and "reads" it to him.

She gave her first talk in primary a few weeks ago and it couldn't have gone better. She is definitely a performer! She sings really well! Just today I heard her singing along with a movie she has only seen a few times and the song is pretty high so she was actually singing it an octave below! I was so amazed! I hope she gets the singing talent better than I did! I got the desire but not the full talent! She is the best singer in her class in primary! But I guess she has a slightly unfair advantage cause she hears me practice the songs I am going to teach the primary. So she always knows them long before everyone else.

Her best friend is Gracie. They get along so so well. They are two peas in a pod. She begs to get to play with her every single day! And usually they can play for hours with out any disagreements! She also has some other great little buddies in out ward and she loves them all so much! She also remembers her friends from UT very fondly. When we moved here I wasn't sure she would be able to remember much a year later but man was I wrong! She asks about them all the time! Thank goodness for blogs cause I can usually show her up to date pictures of most of her friends in UT.

She is a really good eater right now. Her favorites are pasta, green beans, pizza, chicken nuggets, and peaches. She also loves to go to Target with me and get the "popcorn combo" at the food court. She makes one bag of popcorn last days.

I just love my Mal so much. I can't imagine what life was like before her. We are so blessed to have such an amazing spirit in our home. She reminds us to read our scriptures and say our prayers all the time. She is going to accomplish great things in her life, and I am so grateful to have a front row seat!
